Empowering Rural India through Sustainable Development
Set up in 1982, PRAKRUTHI is a prominent voluntary organization from Karnataka, India, engaged in the overall development of rural society. For the past four decades, we have been dedicated to enhancing life through projects in natural resource management, sustainable agriculture, women empowerment, water conservation, and livelihood generation.
We currently operate in 156 villages, touching more than 10,000 families within the Kolar District through transparent, inclusive, and sustainable community-driven development models.
About Us
PRAKRUTHI is a people's voluntary organization that began in 1982 in the midst of rural Karnataka. We have toiled tirelessly for more than four decades, empowering rural people, particularly of the Kolar District, to meet their most critical requirements — from rainfed agriculture and water harvesting to women's empowerment and livelihood.
What We Do
Sustainable Agriculture
We enable farmers to adopt organic and climate-resilient practices through training, soil analysis, composting, and access to seed banks and markets.
Water Resource Management
We restore tanks, construct check dams, and enhance groundwater systems — across 12,000+ hectares and creating 110+ water user groups.
Women Empowerment
Through 6000+ SHGs, we empower rural women with income opportunities, financial literacy, and leadership skills.
Training & Capacity Building
Our training centre provides NGO personnel, young people, and farmers with hands-on skills and development tools towards sustained impact.
